Supervision Session records – do you know what the CQC will want to see?
Apart from the usual areas of career development, consider these to add to your list of topics:
- DBS check – as these are generally renewed every 3 years, remember to ask your support worker if there have been any changes?
- Give them a real life example film to watch (Whorlton Hall abuse scandal) asking them how it made them feel. This leads into reflective practice and safeguarding, instilling high quality care.
- Provide them with a specific policy to read and review beforehand, asking them to explain their findings and how it would impact on their role as a support worker.
