Read: Role of a VA Supporting a Physiotherapy Company and answer these questions:

  1. Why would you phone an equipment company?
  2. Who would you contact in relation to getting splints and boots?
  3. What would you do with the recommendations from the initial assessment report?

Read: Questions to Ask at the Beginning and answer these questions:

  1. You’re working with a newly set up speech and language therapist called Jane who is in her early period of starting up in private practice. Her company is called Little Stars Speech & Language Therapy.  She has her own email address as jane@littlestars-slt.co.uk but hasn’t got round to creating her website as yet.  Jane wants you to take over the role of looking after the emails, dealing with new enquiries and responding to queries.  What is one of the first things you should ask when carrying out this task for a client?
  2. If you were asked to create a spreadsheet to hold new enquiries from people calling and emailing about Jane’s Little Stars Speech & Language Therapy company, so they can be followed up afterwards, what would it look like?  What would the column titles be on the spreadsheet to capture the information? Create an example spreadsheet.
  3. If you received an email on behalf of Jane’s company from a brain injury case manager asking for a quote, what pricing information would you need to know about, to provide a quote to the brain injury case manager?
  4. If Jane asked you to suggest a suitable patient record management system for her Little Stars Speech & Language Therapy company, what would you suggest? Can you provide three examples and give us the monthly cost to use each of these platforms for holding client information?  Here’s an example one – https://www.writeupp.com/
